How to Play Mad Race
Top-down kart arena battle. Rockets, mines, hammers. Most knockouts wins.
Mad Race is a top-down kart arena battle, not a lap race. Six karts, you plus five bots, share one arena of crates and boost pads for a two-minute round. Weapon boxes spawn on fixed spots; drive over one to pick up a rocket, triple rocket, mines, nitro or a spin hammer. Knock rivals out, respawn in two seconds when it happens to you, and finish with the most knockouts.
Progression is a career of knockouts. Every KO adds to a lifetime total that climbs ranks from Rookie to Legend and unlocks five more drivers, each with a speed and turning profile and a starting weapon: Speedy Singh starts with nitro, Bomber Baba carries an extra mine, Hammer Hulk has a longer shield. Bots toughen as your rank rises, and a daily challenge rotates each day.
Controls
- Touch: press and drag anywhere on the arena for a virtual joystick; the kart steers toward the stick.
- Touch: tap the Fire button to use your held weapon.
- Desktop: Arrow keys or WASD to drive, Space to fire.
- Driving over a box picks up a weapon; the HUD shows what you hold and its remaining uses.
How to play, step by step
- Pick an unlocked driver and tap Start Round.
- Drive to a weapon box. Rockets fire forward, mines drop behind you, nitro boosts speed, the hammer spins around your kart.
- Hunt rivals. A rocket hit, mine trigger or hammer touch knocks a kart out unless its shield is up.
- Chain knockouts within 3.4 seconds for Double KO, Triple KO, Rampage and Unstoppable combos.
- The round ends at 120 seconds; the highest KO count wins and collects podium, daily and combo coins.
Rules and scoring
- Ranking is by knockouts, then fewest deaths. Respawn takes two seconds with a brief shield; shielded karts cannot be knocked out.
- Weapons: Rocket (1 use), Triple Rocket (1), Mine (2 uses, arms after 0.45 s, lasts 13 s), Nitro (2.6 s at 1.7x speed), Spin Hammer (4.2 s). Up to 4 boxes at once.
- Podium coins: 60, 35 and 20 for first to third. First win of the day adds 40 plus 10 per consecutive day, up to 60 extra.
- Career KO ranks and driver unlocks at 20, 60, 140, 280 and 550. Bot difficulty scales with your rank and rounds played.
Tips to score higher
- Rockets fly straight for 2.2 seconds. Fire when a rival is committed to a straight line, such as off a boost pad.
- Drop mines at box spawn points; bots path to boxes constantly and mines last 13 seconds.
- The spin hammer is the combo tool. Grab it, hit a boost pad, and drive through the cluster near the central crates.
- Use nitro to escape a hammer kart; hammer karts turn slower and cannot catch a boosted rival.
- Do not fight near your own mines; they do not care who placed them.
- Read the daily challenge first. Win with one or fewer deaths pays 70 coins, more than a podium finish.
Modes and challenges
- Single arena round against five bots, two minutes, most knockouts wins.
- Six drivers unlocked by career knockouts at 0, 20, 60, 140, 280 and 550.
- Daily challenge per date worth 50 to 70 coins, a first-win streak bonus, and a leaderboard.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a lap race?
No. There is no finish line. Everyone battles in one arena for 120 seconds and the most knockouts wins, fewer deaths breaking ties.
Why did my rocket not knock a kart out?
It had a shield up. Karts get a brief shield after respawning, longer for Hammer Hulk. Wait for the glow to fade.
How do I unlock drivers?
Score knockouts across rounds. Career totals of 20, 60, 140, 280 and 550 unlock Speedy Singh, Rocket Rani, Bomber Baba, Hammer Hulk and Chaos Chintu.
What counts as a combo?
Knockouts within 3.4 seconds of the previous one. Two is Double KO, three Triple KO, four Rampage, five Unstoppable, each adding a combo coin bonus.
