How to Play Sky Stack
One tap, perfect stacks, rising melody. Hypnotic zen.
Sky Stack is a one-tap tower builder. A block slides left and right above your tower; tap and it drops. Any part that hangs over the edge of the block below is chopped off and tumbles away, so each sloppy tap makes the next block narrower. Land it exactly and the block keeps its full width, a ring of light bursts out and the note it plays rises in pitch.
The game is designed as a calm, almost meditative loop, but there is a scoring layer for people who like to push. Perfect streaks regrow width, gold blocks appear every few floors, and the zones above ten blocks alternate between faster sliding and pulsing speed. Your best height is drawn as a ghost line so you can see exactly where you fell last time.
Controls
- Touch: tap anywhere on the screen to drop the block.
- Desktop: press the Space bar, or click on the canvas.
- There is no steering; timing the single tap is the whole game.
- A mute button toggles the melody and sound effects.
How to play, step by step
- Tap STACK IT. The first block slides above the base.
- Tap when its edges line up with the block below. The overhang is cut off and falls.
- Keep dropping; the camera rises with the tower.
- Three perfects in a row start regrowing the block width.
- Every ten blocks a milestone fires and the sliding zone changes.
- A complete miss ends the run and pays coins by height.
Rules and scoring
- Score: +1 for a normal landing, +2 for a perfect (within 7 pixels).
- An overlap of 4 pixels or less is a miss and ends the game.
- Perfect streaks of three or more regrow width by 8 pixels per block, up to the starting width.
- Gold blocks: land one with any overlap for +5 points and 16 pixels of extra width.
- Every 10 blocks pays 10 coins; the final reward is 2 coins per point (minimum 5).
- Blocks 10 to 19 slide faster, 20 to 29 pulse in speed, alternating every ten floors.
- Themes unlock by best height: Sunset 15, Mint 35, Violet 60.
Tips to score higher
- Listen as much as you look; a broken rising melody tells you instantly that you slipped.
- Tap slightly before the edges look aligned to allow for reaction delay.
- A thin block still counts if it overlaps by more than 4 pixels, so do not panic-tap.
- In the fast zone the speed is constant; count the beat of each pass.
- In the pulse zone watch two full passes before committing.
- Take gold blocks even at the cost of a perfect; the width regrow is worth more than one point.
Modes and challenges
- Single endless mode: build as high as you can until a miss.
- Zones: normal (first ten), fast, pulse, alternating every ten blocks.
- Theme palettes: Sky, Sunset, Mint and Violet, unlocked by best height and picked from the home screen.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a perfect drop?
The block lands within 7 pixels of the one below. You get +2 points, a ring effect and a higher note.
Why did my block disappear when I tapped?
The overlap was 4 pixels or less, which is a complete miss, so the block tumbled and the run ended.
What is the dotted line above my tower?
Your ghost line, the height of your best run. It pulses within five blocks and celebrates when you pass it.
How do I unlock a new theme?
Reach 15 blocks for Sunset, 35 for Mint and 60 for Violet, then pick them from the home screen swatches.
