How to Play Kabaddi Duel
Hold your breath, raid, tag and escape. Real kabaddi in your thumb.
Kabaddi Duel turns the school-ground sport into a thumb game. Your held finger is your held breath. Hold to cross the midline and raid, slide to weave between three defenders, brush one to tag it, and release to sprint back before the breath bar empties. Then roles flip and you defend, dragging your wall and lunging to grab the raider. First to 15 points wins.
There is no button spam. A tap is only a feint; a real raid needs a genuine hold, and breath is a six-second resource that each tag tops up by 0.8 seconds. The bot has three defender personalities, anchor, hunter and guard, plus a raider with its own greed. Its level moves up or down by one after every match depending on the result, so the opponent adapts to you.
Controls
- Raid (touch): press and hold anywhere to raid, slide to steer, release to sprint home.
- Raid (desktop): hold Space, steer with Arrow keys or WASD, release Space to escape.
- Defend (touch): drag a defender to reposition; a quick tap on one makes it lunge.
- Defend (desktop): press 1, 2 or 3 to lunge with the left, middle or right defender.
- A press under 200 ms is a feint, so commit to a proper hold.
How to play, step by step
- Tap Start Match. Raid 1 is yours.
- Hold to cross the midline. Breath starts at 6 seconds and drains while you hold.
- Weave toward a defender and brush it. Each tag adds 0.8 seconds of breath.
- Release to sprint back over the midline before breath hits zero or a defender grabs you.
- On defence, drag your defenders to close gaps and lunge when the raider is within reach.
- Raids alternate until one side reaches 15.
Rules and scoring
- Escape: 1 point per tagged defender; all three is All Out for 4 points. An empty raid scores nothing.
- Caught: the defence scores 1, or 2 as a Super Tackle if the raider had already tagged two.
- Running out of breath or crossing the back boundary hands the defence 1 point.
- Winning pays 40 coins and raises the bot level by one (max 4); losing lowers it by one. One Second Breath revive per match via ad.
Tips to score higher
- Tag the nearest defender first, then use the extra breath to decide if a second tag is worth it.
- Release early. Being caught after two tags gives the bot a 2-point Super Tackle.
- Steer diagonally. Defenders lunge along a line, so a sideways brush and instant release beats the grab.
- Keep the wall staggered on defence: two back, one forward, so a raider who tags the front runs into a lunge.
- Lunge when the raider commits to a brush, not while it weaves outside reach; the cooldown is a full second.
- At 13-12 up, take an empty raid. A safe return costs nothing and the bot still has to score.
Modes and challenges
- Single match versus the bot, first to 15, alternating raids.
- Adaptive bot level 0 to 4, saved between sessions and adjusted after every result.
- Best raid record (tags and breath percentage) on the home screen, with coin rewards and an ad double.
Frequently asked questions
Why does tapping not start a raid?
A tap under 200 ms is a feint animation, not a raid. Press and keep holding to cross the midline.
What is a Super Tackle?
If a raider with two tags gets caught, the defence scores 2 instead of 1. It applies to both you and the bot.
Do I have to tag every raid?
No. An empty raid where you return safely scores zero for both sides and is a fair way to protect a lead.
Does the bot get harder?
Yes. Its level rises after each win and falls after each loss, between 0 and 4, for both its raider and its defenders.
