How to Play Tennis Rally
Arcade tennis vs the bot. Time your swing, aim your shot, win the rally.
Tennis Rally is a side-view arcade tennis game controlled with one thumb. Your player moves automatically; you decide when to swing and how to shape the shot. Tap high on the screen for a deep lob, in the middle for a drive, or low for a short fast flat shot. Timing decides quality: a swing at the right moment produces a perfect hit, a late or early one produces a weak sitter.
Matches are short, first to four points, with a golden point at 3-3. Three rivals wait on the home screen: Rusty Raj, Coach Meera and Ace Arjun, each faster and more accurate than the last, and each unlocked by beating the previous one. There is a daily bonus for your first win of the day and a rally streak tracked across matches.
Controls
- Touch: tap anywhere on the court. Top third = LOB, middle = DRIVE, bottom = FLAT.
- Desktop: Space or Enter for a drive, Up or W for a lob, Down or S for a flat shot.
- A tap serves when it is your serve.
- Your player runs to the ball automatically; you only time the swing, and swings have a short cooldown.
How to play, step by step
- Pick a rival. Beat Rusty Raj to unlock Coach Meera, then Ace Arjun.
- Serve with a tap and watch the return.
- Tap as the ball reaches your racket; good timing gives a strong, accurate shot.
- Shape the shot with tap height: lobs go deep, flats land short and fast.
- Win points when the bot nets, hits out or cannot reach the ball.
- First to four wins; at 3-3 a golden point decides it.
Rules and scoring
- Match: first to 4 points, with a GOLDEN POINT at 3-3.
- Points are lost by netting, hitting out, or failing to reach the ball.
- Timing sets shot quality: perfect, good, ok or weak, each with different accuracy.
- Rallies past 18 shots fatigue both players and end quickly.
- Win coins: Raj 20, Meera 35, Arjun 60; first win each day adds 25; beating all three once pays 100.
- Rally streak counts consecutive points won across matches and goes to the leaderboard.
Tips to score higher
- Tap when the ball is almost at the racket, not as it crosses the net; early taps produce sitters.
- Flat shots beat Rusty Raj; his slow legs cannot reach a short fast ball.
- Against Coach Meera alternate lob and flat to keep her moving.
- Ace Arjun hunts corners. Keep him deep with lobs and pounce on the one weak reply.
- If a ball is clearly flying long, do not swing; let it go out.
- End points before 18 shots, when fatigue halves shot quality.
Modes and challenges
- Three rivals: Rusty Raj (easy), Coach Meera (medium), Ace Arjun (hard), unlocked in order.
- Daily bonus: 25 coins for the first win of each day.
- Champion status when all three rivals are beaten, with a one-time 100 coin award.
Frequently asked questions
Why did my player not hit the ball?
The tap was outside the timing window, the ball was still on the bot's side, or your swing was on cooldown. Tap once as the ball reaches the racket.
What is the difference between lob, drive and flat?
Lob is high and deep, flat is short and fast with little net clearance, drive sits between them.
How do I unlock the other rivals?
Beat Raj once for Meera, then Meera for Arjun. Progress is saved and shown as BEATEN.
What is the rally streak?
Consecutive points won, carried across matches until you lose one. Your best is saved and submitted.
